Yeay! Finally, I have my own Coastal Scents Pink Kabuki Brush! This item, along with my other makeup finds, arrived sometime last month. I ordered this one from the Coastal Scent site along with the Coastal Scents Pink Duo Fiber Powder Stippler brush (I will make a separate post for this one)

Yay! My Pink Kabuki Brush! (on top of my pink Suesh vanity case)

I first saw this Pink Kabuki Brush sometime in May last year. I so wanted one because, for the obvious reason, it’s pink – the handle is metallic pink, and the bristles are hot pink. Idk why other reviews say the bristles are made from synthetic hair. It’s not. I can tell that it’s not; there is this usual awkward smell from new brushes made from natural hair. The Coastal Scents site confirms that the bristles are made from combined goat and sable hairs. So if you are allergic to natural hair, the Coastal Scent Pink Kabuki Brush is NOT made of synthetic hair.

Ok, so what I love about this brush are the following:

• It’s cheap. It’s only $4.99 or just around Php250. If you’re planning to buy this from the Coastal Scent site, you might also consider getting another product or two so you can save on shipping cost.
• The bristles are very soft and very compact. But like what I’ve told you, natural hair brushes have awkward smell K It will fade eventually but it will take a while and a few washes.
• It’s perfect for applying mineral makeup or just powder makeup. I alternately use this with my Ellana full face brush when applying my finishing powder, which is also from Ellana Minerals.
• The very short handle gives you more control when blending powder makeup.
• I just love that it’s pink. I feel so kikay whenever I use it.

What I don’t like about it are:

• It smells awkward. It doesn’t have a bad smell though, just awkward.
• Hairs would fall once in a while. But I think it’s normal for natural-hair brushes.
• Everytime I wash it, the bristles on the outer part of the brush gets wavy. (you might have noticed that in the picture above)

So there. If you’re looking for a kabuki brush or if you’re thinking to get this pink kabuki brush too, I hope this review helps. :’)

Yay I got a new set of brushes!

Earlier this week I ordered 5-pc brush set from Ellana Minerals and I received them last night. I decided to get brushes from Ellana because I trust their products. I bought a small face brush before and I have been using it ever since. So now I got a 5-pc set of brushes that comes with a very nice black compact pouch that I can take anywhere — a bigger powder brush I can use for loose foundation and blushes, an angled blush brush for contouring the cheeks, two flat brushes of different size that I can use for applying concealer, liquid foundation and even eyeshadow, and a brow and lash brush.

The brushes are made of synthetic hair so it’s perfect for you if you have allergies with natural bristles made from goat hair or horse hair. And believe me, the bristles are sooooooo soft even after you wash them for the first time. I’ve encountered such brushes before (when I first bought a 22-pc brush set made of natural hairs) that’s why I’m very wary now in selecting the brushes I buy.

So if it is your first time to buy brushes or something, I recommend that you get Ellana brushes from Ellana Minerals. It’s cheap but the quality is so good.

Yeay! Boiffie and Bestie (and myself) got me a pink vanity box!

I saw this one from Suesh and I fell in love instantly. I forced my bestfriend and my boyfriend to pledge 1000 each so I can buy this. Hahaha it feels good to be loved! Thanks guys, I lubbyoo!

I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I imagined staring lovingly at while I did work on my laptop or when playing party poker. I thought about walking into the airport with it and the admiring glances I would get. Hehe! I literally couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

Two weeks  ago, Boiffie and I dropped by Suesh’ showroom in Greenhills to pick up the box. Unfortunately, they’ve already closed when we arrived. We were just a few minutes late then, and I cursed the traffic in Greenhills, and I was really frustrated. The next day, I asked the Bestfriend to pick up the box somewhere in Timog and he gladly obliged. (Uhmm okay, to be honest, it took me a lot of pleading to get him get the pink box hahaha) That was a Sunday, and after church we met and I was giggling like a little girl all the while!

I was so hyped when I saw my pink vanity box at last! It’s perfect for my little collection of brushes and cosmetics. There’s still plenty of room and it’s like begging for more products to be put there LOL Hello makeup shopping soon!

I am looking for a good kabuki brush and I’ve read good reviews about Coastal Scent’s pink kabuki brush. Also, my ever favorite Marlena of MakeupGeek is using it. So I want one too. Weeeheee.

Loreal True Match Foundation

Out of the natural instinct as a woman to shop during sale, I bought two items that were totally not on my budget for this month. But I’m glad I did because I soooo love it! *heart heart heart*

So I got a L’Oréal True Match Minerals loose foundation-like powder and L’Oréal True Match super-blendable liquid foundation. I’m not a L’Oréal fan, before. It’s akshully my first time to use their products. And I was so thrilled that I found a shade that closely matches my skin tone, and that is Loreal G3 (Golden Beige).

So how was it, you’re asking? Hmm, I like it. I know that’s lame hahaha ^-^ But srsly, I lurve it! I didn’t find any difficulty finding the right shade for me, it only took me two test applications to find my perfect matching shade. Thing is, Loreal True Match Super-Blendable Liquid Foundation doesn’t only match my skin tone but also my skin texture.

Loreal True Match Foundation doesn’t feel heavy unlike other liquid foundations. I have been using Revlon for some time now and I kinda hate the feel of it. Loreal True Match gives me a great coverage and I’m telling you to get yourself one if you’re looking for a good foundation or if you’re having difficulties to find your shade because there are over twenty shades to choose from and I’m sure there’s a perfect match for everyone. Pure love, what do you say?

I recommend that you apply Loreal True Match Foundation using your clean fingers. Don’t worry its glides wonderfully and it blends great to even out skin. Some says it dries quickly but I can’t say because I use moisturizer first before applying foundation. Maybe I should try it sometimes without the moisturizer and see what happens.

I know I’ve said a lot already but that’s not everything. I just can’t write a full review yet because I just bought the products last night. Give me a week and I’d get back to you and post the full review. And I will talk more about the Loreal True Match Mineral after several uses.

I saw a review of the Coastal Scent 78 Palette earlier when I visited Makeup Geek, and gawd, I want one too!

Just look at this collection of eyeshadow and a set of blush in a compact container. And that neutral colors included in 78 Palette Version 2 is perfect with shades of black, brown, silver and white. Wow, this is so pretty!

I placed a bid at eBay. And I almost placed an order at Coastal Scent using my bestbuddy’s paypal account! LOL

The Coastal Scent 78 Palette price is $22 at Coastal Scent. It’s a good deal, but the shipping fee ranges from $15-$55. That gave me the second thought.

Should I buy this? Halpz! Haha
