Noynoy has sworn into office …

And another chapter in the Philippine history has begun.

I wasn’t able to watch the inauguration earlier because 1. I don’t have TV in my place, 2. maybe I don’t have the interest, 3. I’m busy with something important, 4. live streaming will not work for me because Globe Tattoo sucks.

This is my own history: May 10 2010 - I voted for the first time.

So I didn’t have the compulsory I-Voted post last month. And again, not because I’m apathetic or something – I voted in the first place. I just don’t know what to say. I don’t like politics much and I don’t know much about what’s happening recently. I stopped taking interest in social issues since I left college, which is actually sad. Really.

That being said, I will not try to pretend that I have something intellectual to say about anything related to politics, society and stuff like that.

But here’s a very popular thought:

Ok. So he has not done anything in the past twelve years of being a Senator. That doesn’t automatically mean that he can’t do anything as the President of our country. Nah, I’m just trying to be **very** optimistic here. Who knows he’d suddenly become president-wonder, there’s always room for improvement after all.

His name is Pfut Pfut and he loves to squirt water out of his small beak. And yes, he's a penguin.

I got him from McDonalds, McKinley Hill. He’s cute, isn’t he? Now I have another thing that won’t leave me.

People leave you. Friends bail out on you — sometimes they can’t even notice that you need them. But these things — stuffed toys, happy meal toys, and even pillows — they won’t leave you, unless you throw them away.

And yes, I need a life. Srsly.

People make mistakes. Everyone does. Mistakes are just the things that either break one or make one. Most often than not, we’d like to forget the mistakes we committed. But sometimes, there are mistakes that just feel good in the most unusual sense.

Setting goals for 2010

I know January is the time of the year where people are crazy over scheming resolutions, setting goals and planning their lives. Well, I am never different.

So while I have already set my goals for 2010 privately, here are some of the items that I would like to (and I can) share with you:

Be fit. This would include becoming physically fit by working out regularly and choosing what to eat religiously, becoming mentally fit by catching up with new technologies that would be generally helpful later on in my chosen career path (for present and future roles), and becoming socially fit by interacting more with hoomans and engaging in different interpersonal encounters, relationships and whatnots.

Be wealthy. While reaching my first million is still an impossible feat for this year, my definition for being wealthy would mean no debt of any sort. No credit card statements and no late or unpaid bills. My emergency fund should equal half of my annual salary, my monthly residual income should be able to sustain my monthly expenses. Also, having the liberty to be random in shopping and spending would be a mark wealth. And it should also mean that I can survive 5months of being unemployed.

Be popular. Not that I crave for a 2minute fame for American Idol audition or something (but it would be nice, come to think of it LOL). What I mean here is I should establish my online presence (again) like it’s 2007 once again. Reclaim the fame wtf! But seriously, for the lack of better term what I mean with popular here is to increase my readability – generate threads of conversation through my posts and get involve in supporting at least an advocacy.

Be a linguist. I know it would take time that’s why I should start now. People who can speak more than three languages fluently really amaze me. So this year I will be on my way to being a linguist, and the first language I would like to learn is Korean, in preparation for next year’s visit in Seoul.

Be a jet-setter. Going to places is one my passion. I am lucky that it is also one of Boiffie’s interest. Last year we went to places and we would love to travel more this year. We have already planned this year’s vacations and I hope we can pull off all those trips given that we have limited resources.

Be pretty and happy. And my success in these fields really depends on how I control the variables. Being pretty is never only about soft curls or flowing black hair, or soft and smooth skin, or wearing makeup and being fashionable. Most of the time, being pretty is just being confident and comfortable. Most days I can pull off a lazy outfit but can still feel very pretty. Happiness also is a controlled variable – everyday you wake up and you decide that it’s gonna be a happy one, and like magic it will be. So to achieve being pretty and happy, I must decide to be pretty and happy

Hello there!

I am just posting a quick update so you would know I am still alive LOL

I had not been updating for the past weeks because wonky laptop won’t connect to the internet in my new place, AMF I don’t know how to fix it. So I have no time to update my blogs (yes I can’t blog all I want at work, of course).

I have so many backlogs. Amf.

Also, I already claimed my Starbucks planner! Yey! My Belle de Jour planner hasn’t arrived yet, they said it was shipped last November 19, it’s already December 04!

What else? Hmm.. last weekend I got to meet some of my grade school classmates in a very humble mini get together. That story deserves a separate post, and I promise them that I’m gonna blog about it. *Sorry guys, uber busy talaga T__T*

Yey! Starbucks 2010 Planner is now here and the I-have-to-complete-the-stickers-to-get-the-planner craze IS REALLY ON!

Also, our favorite holiday blends are now available – Toffee Nut Latte, Dark Cherry Mocha and Peppermint Mocha! My favorite is Peppermint Mocha *wink*. There are new food items too like Cranberry Sandwich and Chocolate Molten Cake. Yum yum, this will make my afternoon or midnight foodah comfort!

The Starbucks 2010 Planner is way way better than last year’s planner. The cover features the processes of coffee-making: the coffee bean, the roasting, and the coffee. Then here’s the sweet thing – there are discount coupons included in the planner! There are six coupons you can enjoy all year-round, depending on the coupon date. I know, that’s really exciting.

So there. You just need to complete 17 stickers in exchange of a Starbucks 2010 Planner – 9 stickers from the Starbucks Holiday blends and 8 stickers from any Starbucks beverage. Yay, this would mean I will be getting a lot of caffeine for the next weeks! =b

I got my first two stickers already at Starbucks Tagaytay last Sunday. The boiffie and I had a little joy ride and before we headed home, we grabbed hot latte – I had Toffee Nut Latte and he had White Chocolate. It has been a habit for us to drop by Starbucks every time we are in Tagaytay.

The Big Bang Theory – my weekend’s sweets and LOL

Last week I started watching The Big Bang Theory. And because I had not much to do that weekend, I spent the whole Saturday marathon-ing season one.

I got hooked from the very first episode! I just can’t stop! Who wouldn’t like Sheldon, the child prodigy who got two PhDs and an IQ of 187 but has no understanding whatsoever of the concepts of sarcasm, humor, humility and girls? And the way the Jim Parsons portrayed Sheldon’s character is superb and comedic in all sense! No wonder he got a nomination for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series.

Other characters in BBT are Leonard, Sheldon’s bestfriend and housemate who is inlove with the blonde neighbor Penny who lives across the hall, and the two other nerds Howard who considers himself a “ladies man” and would always throw pickup lines whenever possible, and Rajesh who have chronic shyness to the point that he becomes mute when in front of females (but not until he got drunk on one of the episodes in season one that he gets to talk to Penny!).

Oh well, the series is really a big LOL. I would really burst into laughters while watching. I admire the creators Chuck Lore and Bill Prady. I wonder who is Sheldon and who is Leonard from the two of them. That’s what they say when you create something, or write something, you always put a bit of yourself in your characters.

Anyhoo, I have nothing else to say but I love The Big Bang Theory and I can’t wait to see the end of my shift today and start watching seasons two and three. Wee what a nice way to spend my weekend. (Oh, not that I don’t have a social life that I would always spend my weekends watching tv series.)Wooot ~=>

Coastal Scents 78 Palette

So, after ten thousand years, I get to review my 78 Palette at last! Here’s my two cent:

78 Palette

The 78 palette includes 60 vibrant, very pigmented eyeshadow colors, both in shimmer and matte, 12 different shades of neutral colors (white, gray, silver and black) , and 6 rosy and purplish blush. It’s very practical because it only cost around Php900 at Doll Face Makeup. The palettes being sold in Coastal Scents, Doll Face Makeup, and by other eBay sellers are all the same. They just print their brands on it, but yeah it’s the same product.

My favorite in the 78 palette is the range of eyeshadow colors. Also, the eyeshadows look good even when you apply it without primer, unlike many other cheap eyeshadows out there. The colors would really stick to your eye lids beautifully. When applied with primer, the colors would look livelier and prettier.

I don’t get to use the six blush shades that much because I have other favorites when it comes to blushers and bronzers. But I can say that it’s easy to apply, you don’t need much product because it is very pigmented — a little would go a long way.

The cons of the 78 palette is that it comes in this big black package, you can’t carry it around.

Also, teh boiffie does not want to go Teh Melai and teh Malen do not want to go, too What will I be doing there tehn? Me wants to cry.
